COFFEE GRIND GUIDE
GRIND GUIDE
Selecting the right grind size is crucial for brewing great coffee. Different brewing methods require specific grind sizes to extract the optimal flavor from your coffee beans.

Extra Coarse
Perfect for cold brew coffee. Resembles rock salt in appearance. Extraction time: 12+ hours.

Coarse Grind
Best for French Press and Percolator. Resembles sea salt in texture. Extraction time: 4-5 minutes.

Medium-Coarse
Ideal for Chemex and Clever Dripper brewing methods. Extraction time: 3-4 minutes.

Medium Grind
Best for pour-over brewers, drip coffee makers, and siphon brewers. Resembles regular sand. Extraction time: 2-3 minutes.

Medium-Fine
Good for Aeropress and pour-over cones. Finer than table salt. Extraction time: 2-2.5 minutes.

Fine Grind
Perfect for espresso machines. Similar to fine sugar or salt. Extraction time: 20-30 seconds.

Extra Fine
Used for Turkish coffee. Powder-like consistency. Extraction time: 1-2 minutes.
The finer the grind, the more surface area is exposed to water, resulting in faster extraction. Too fine a grind can lead to bitter coffee, while too coarse can result in weak, under-extracted coffee. Match your grind size to your brewing method for the best results.
